Thoughts from across the pond [ An email from Ireland to the brethren in the States…a point to
ponder despite your political affiliation:

‘We, in Ireland, can’t figure out why people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States.

On one side, you have a pants wearing lawyer, married to a lawyer who can’t keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer who goes to the wrong church who is married to yet another lawyer who doesn’t even like the country her husband wants to run.

Now…On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate Mc terminology married to a good looking younger woman who> owns a beer distributorship.

What in Lords name are ye lads thinking over there in the colonies??”

Hmm.. the problem I see is they are both people I don’t necessarily want to lead the country I live in.. but the only thing i can do is pick the one that is not going to fuck it up worse then the current nimrod we have in office.

I don’t know if either of the men going out for the job of Leader of the USA is a good or bad man.. and what they do in the privacy of their homes in none of my fucking business.. so if obama’s wife hates this country.. she has that right.. if she hates whites thats unfortunate but she has that right too. the real question is how well can obama run this counrty without mixing his personal life with his political life.

some people thought that despite his history of addiction that GW Bush would make a good president so why not a man that has a wife that hates this country? if thats the worst of his issues then i don’t see any problems.

Jeff Abraham says Carlin went into St. John’s Health Center on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain. Carlin died at 5:55 p.m. PDT. He was 71.

Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. It was announced Tuesday that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

The dean of counterculture comedians, Carlin constantly pushed the envelop with his jokes, particularly with a routine called “The Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV.”

First things first, George Fuck you for making fun of my name.. but I do forgive you..
it’s not my fault i have a goofy name.

yea.. feels like my favorite uncle died.. George has made a massive impact on me and my sense of humor, how i look at god and religion..

I was thinking you never know how much of an impact a celebrity has made on your life or how much they mean to you till they are gone.

specially if it’s one you haven’t had the chance to see preform live. George is right up there with Dimebag Darryl and Freddy Mercury(yea i like queen, WHAT?!?) they are all people who i have admired their work and wanted to see them preform live but never had the money or the time to.

“Okay….WTF. I am going to have to step in here on this. I am a HUGE Limp Bizkit fan. I enjoy the music he writes, and I adore him. I have met him in person, and I will be the first to tell you what a sweet, and thoughtful guy he is. He is one of the only celebrities that I know of that actually keeps in touch with his fans, and has respect for the people that got him to where he is today.

And for your information, I love the Beatles, the Stones, and Zep…I knew the song Faith before they remade it. The fact that you think is some truth to your statement boggles my mind, because obviously you have no idea who Limp Bizkit fans are. To be honest, we are a faithful special bunch with all sorts of different tastes in music, we just have one thing in common….Fred.

So, to put a cap on this…Fred is a great guy, and even if you don’t like the music he makes, you have to give him props for his success.

As for the comment about the SUPER TALENTED bands that are still trying to make it, every band has a path that they are on to try to make it to the top. If they are so SUPER TALENTED and people liked them, then they would be a top band being scouted by record labels so they could make money off them. I don’t buy that load of crap that underground bands are sooo much better than the mainstream music. It has it’s place in the music industry, but, obviously it isn’t what everyone likes, because if it were, they would be famous and making money. That’s the way it goes, there will always be bands who don’t make it, or struggle to the top. That’s life.”

and my reply

because not every band that has more talent in the tips of their fingers then Fred Worst and Limp Dicklick are going to conform to what the Record Industry want them to be.. the bottom line is this.. the ONLY REASON limp bizkit ever made it anywhere is because Fred was the VP of the label his band was on.. and had the means to get his music onto MTV which spoon feeds the masses what music they should like..

I don’t watch MTV for the music they play for that reason. I listen to very few radio stations and the ones i do, i listen to the talk radio to laugh.. not to listen to whatever the record labels deem popular.. in fact most of the music i listen to don’t get air play on regular radio stations because the music does not conform to any of what the stations call “Radio Friendly”.

bands like Black sabbath and led zeppelin had massive fallowing WAY before they ever got their music played on the radio.. I’ll bet you money that no one beyond the local bar scene knew who the hell they(limp bizkit) were as a band before they got their first video on MTV.

my older brothers were listening to the stones and led zeppelin months and even years before they got air play in the USA.

Fred only is popular because of where he works and who he knows.. as far as his talent goes.. his music was a fad, he always seemed to be sticking his nose into other peoples records/CD’s to get his name out there.. wasn’t he on a live version of a disturbed song? i bet he got paid for that.. just because he wanted to sing on stage with the guy that normally preforms the song by himself with his band.

I believe he was also on another video with a rap star but that could have been one of his own videos for all i know.

as for his acting and his directing.. have not seen them to make any real judgment on them.

EDIT:

lets not forget that others in that industry think he’s a total douche bag.. like Zakk Wylde.

The fallowing Q&A is from metal-rules.com
How did the rivalry with Fred Durst and Limp Biscuit start originally?

Some record exec told me “If you change your image Zakk and be more like Limp Biscuit you’ll sell more records”. I’m like ” You gotta be kidding me? Limp Biscuit, they’re the Apex? ” I said said good, it’s on. War has been declared. I go ”let me get this straight. If I start wearing shorts and a backwards Yankee hat that’s gonna fix everything?” I said ”are you kidding me?” He said “Well this whole biker thing with the vest and wristbands and the whole 9 yards”. Well I go “What do you want me to do? Alright, I’ll cut my hair off, shave the beard. Is that gonna make me sexy? Whatta ya high?” Fuck this!! It’s on Now!

The whole thing with Fred Durst, he’s the antithesis of everything Black Label stands for. The day I start dating supermodels ?I’ve been married almost 20 years. The thing is I got 3 kids. With him its all about being famous, everything has got to be a career move. That’s why we can’t stand him. The pure fluff, cheese dick, he’ll show up for the opening of a box of chocolates that motherfucker. Any premiere, this, that, that, any photo opportunity he’s there. Hell when we did that movie Rockstar he was there for that. Everybody showed up for the thing. I wasn’t even going to show up for it cause I was in the movie. Fuck this is cheesy, this red carpet shit. He eats it up.

Personally I wouldn’t be able to name one of his tunes.

Remember the record company exec that was telling me this? I said “see if he’s around as long as I am.” Fuck ‘em, we’ll go for it. Who fuckin’ cares about him? He’s already hung himself already. He’s given himself all the rope he needs.

Just give him enough rope and he’ll hang himself.

He already has. (Laughs) Why do you think Wes left the band? Everybody in Black Label fuckin’ hates the fuckin’?ya know! Doin’ meet and greets and hangin’ out. Cool! At least somebody says it cause we fuckin’ hate that motherfucker too. We’re just sayin what everyone else fuckin’ thinks.

or the fact of the origin of the band name is fucking disgusting.

Soggy biscuit or limp biscuit is a male masturbation game reportedly played in typically teenage male-oriented groups in which the participants stand around a biscuit masturbating until ejaculating onto it; the last person to do so must eat the biscuit.[1] The term is thought to have originated in Australia sometime in the 1960s.[1]

Although the terminology may differ slightly, the notability of the game is such that variations on the theme are referred to in popular culture, examples including Stephen Fry’s The Liar, the German movie Crazy and Skinless’s song “Scum Cookie”.

Anyone willingly naming their band after such a thing clearly has issues.

This message is a forward from my friend Greg that runs the group. and trust me when i say if you go to play you will have fun.. my schedule prevents me from going as often as i’d like but i’d go to every game if i could.

=======================================
Everyone,

Although Tod and I have been doing some additional promotional things

lately, we could really use your help to grow the ALTC. One of the BEST ways to help the ALTC is by word of mouth. Never assume anyone you know won’t be interested in laser tag. If they have expressed dislike for “gun” games in the past, then that’s fine. Otherwise, tell them about how much fun you have when you play. Tell them that it’s 100% free (donations accepted, but NOT required!).

Tell them it’s great exercise (if they are wanting more or at least a way to get out of the house and enjoy nature and the company of other people. Tell friends, family, coworkers, even people you chat with whileshopping or waiting for a bus! Just like word of mouth advertising is great for businesses, it’s great for clubs, too. If anyone says they’re bored, or are looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, tell them about the ALTC and bring them to a game! There are NEVER “too many” players!

Here at ThinkGeek Labs™ we’ve examined this phenomenon carefully. With the bevy of reality TV shows and humdrum movies we quickly decided that what people do in real life is NOT significantly less exciting than what fictional characters on the screen experience… but for some reason, real life just SEEMS much more boring. However, after days of extensive highly-scientific double blind testing we were able to discover the difference… Background Music! Your real life experiences just don’t have the needed dramatic soundtrack to back them up. Whether you’re brushing your teeth, walking your dog or chatting up that cute girl in chemistry class you need the appropriate music and sound effects to enhance the experience. Fortunately we’ve developed the solution for this irritating life boredom problem with the Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt.

This amazing new wearable audio solution features a working speaker embedded into the front of the shirt. When you push the appropriate button on the pocketable remote you get music or sound effects appropriate for any situation. Check out the chart below to see the extensive list of built in sounds and suggestions on using them for dramatic punctuation in your everyday life.

After wearing and using the Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt for one week our test subjects reported that their lives were 143% more exciting than without the shirt… plus they got more dates and their friends commented on how much cooler they were. When we tried to take the shirts back after the testing period we were overwhelmed by the sound of melancholy background music and crying.

Staying healthy is the key to keeping yourself alive. Video game characters know this all too well. When your red heart gauge reaches zero… you die. For non-bitmap humans like you this is more of a challenge. But luckily after extensive study at ThinkGeek labs we’ve determined that people feel best when they are in close proximity to something that they adore. Don’t understand? Well luckily for you we’ve created this amazing 8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt to illustrate.

Buy one of these glowing shirts for yourself, and gift one to your significant other (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, fembot 2000…). During your normal activities two and a half pixelated hearts will light up on your shirt. Hey… you’re depressed and in need of a recharge. But get within hugging distance of your significant other wearing the matching shirt and suddenly the hearts on both of your shirts start to light up until you’re fully powered up. Go too far astray from the source of your affections and you’ll drop back down to two and a half hearts again. Got it?

We expect our gadgets to do all the busywork while we focus on the high level important tasks like reading blogs. That’s why we hate to have to crack open our laptops just to see if there is any wi-fi internet access about… and keychain wi-fi detectors, we would have to actually remove them from our pockets to look at them. The glowing bars on the front of the shirt dynamically change as the surrounding wi-fi signal strength fluctuates.
