Why is it when you see dorks at metal shows they all have the skinny jeans and haircuts that look like you are wearing a wig backwards?
Am i the only comicbook reading sci-fi loving con going geek that goes to shows? I never seem to see the same group of people going to shows that i see at conventions (Rustycon,Norwescon, Emerald City Comicon, PAX Prime) but i always see these EMO looking kids at shows. I know that my geek friends like good heavy metal and would gladly goto a local show or a Festival show to see their favorite national or global act.
Am i now part of the Old Generation? am i now the old school metalhead? No, because i don’t rock the skullet wearing a leather jacket with a denim vest over the leather with patches of my favorite bands. NOPE, I’m that metalhead that had to get a job that doesn’t like their employees to have long hair or wear ripped jeans. so that means i had to cut off all my long hair and wear polo shirts and dress pants, have i sold out? maybe i have but maybe i can still enjoy my headbanging music while wearing my Starwars Tshirt & Cargo Pants instead?
I guess I’ve traded one uniform for another.
